On Saturday the 14th March 2015, Highland Brass travelled to the Perth Concert Hall to take part in the highly competitive Scottish Regional heat of the National Brass Competition.

The test piece for the fourth section of this event was "An English Pastorale" by Dean Jones.

We put in a good performance and were placed a satisfactory, but slightly disappointing, 5th place out of 16 bands.

The musical director of Highland Brass, Mark Bell, said afterwards that he was "extremely proud that a band which was under 2 years old could achieve such a good result, and it was one of the proudest achievements of his life to have got the band to this level so quickly".

The next competition for the band will be the SBBA Northern Counties Open Entertainments event on Saturday the 23rd May 2105 at Loch Leven Community Hall in Kinross, Perthshire.
