Yesterday we lost a wonderful, caring person from the world - Kirsty Miller.

I knew her briefly through banding but it wasn't until I moved here that I really got to know her. She was a massive part and founding member of highland brass, and she would often message me to say how the band brought her happiness, as it does to all of us that play in it.

She became a great friend to both myself and Ailsa Watson, especially taking the time to help Ailsa when she moved up here, and for that I will be eternally grateful.

I will miss her wit, her lame excuses for being late to band, her put downs to Neil Wallace when he gets a bit excited in band, picking Ailsa up blind drunk after her "craft nights" and I'll miss her friendship most of all.

Good night kirsty, always our principal cornet.
